A new weather system bringing rain is set to enter Punjab tonight, the Meteorological Department said on Saturday. The system is expected to affect districts including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Faisalabad tomorrow, with a likely drop in temperatures across the province.

The system is forecast to influence weather conditions in various parts of the country until February 3. In Lahore, the minimum temperature is expected at 9°C, with a maximum of 21°C.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that from February 1 to 3, cold conditions will intensify across most regions.

Rain is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Noshki, and Chaman, while snowfall is likely in the surrounding mountainous areas. Severe cold and heavy snowfall are predicted in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The department cautioned that snowfall could make roads slippery and increase the risk of landslides in hilly areas, advising travellers to take precautionary measures.

Cold weather may also reduce visibility due to fog, prompting authorities to remain on high alert.
