Some 30 Ramazan Bazaars will become operational in Bahawalpur from June 16, said Commissioner Saqib Zafar on Thursday.
He was addressing a meeting.
He said Ramazan Bazaars would be monitored through CCTV cameras. He said a control room had been set up for this purpose.
The commissioner said cleanliness and security arrangements for Ramazan Bazaars should be ensured.
He said wheat flour would be sold for Rs310 rupees per 10kg at the bazaars. He said shortage of flour would not be tolerated.
He was told that 66 fair price shops would be set up across the division; 32 in Bahawalpur, 10 in Bahawalnagar and 24 in Rahim Yar Khan.
He was told that 215 dastarkhawans would be organised across the division where the poor would be offered free iftar; 130 in Bahawalpur, 46 in Bahawalnagar and 39 in Rahim Yar Khan.
The meeting was told that generators for uninterrupted power supply at Ramazan Bazaars had been arranged.
The commissioner said 90 price control magistrates had been tasked to check overcharging and hoarding.
He said Rescue 1122 would set up six emergency points across Bahawalpur city. He urged officials to perform their duties with honesty and with efficiency.
