LAHORE:

A consumer court issued the proprietor of a furniture shop a notice in a suit seeking Rs300,000 as damages. The proprietor is accused of selling the petitioner bad furniture. Petitioner Muhammad Saeed said he had bought furniture from the respondent’s shop in Shahdara for Rs150,000.

He said within a few months, cracks emerged on the dressing table and bed’s paint began fading. When he contacted the proprietor to complain about the matter, Saeed said that he put the matter off and later refused to do anything about it. Saeed requested the court to direct the proprietor to return the amount he had paid for furniture and an additional Rs150,000 as damages.
