PCB tell Raza Hasan to appeal to CAS
Board rejects left-arm spinner’s application against his two-year ban

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has told spinner Raza Hasan’s that his appeal against the two-year ban imposed on him on charges of doping can only be heard by the Court of Arbitration Sports (CAS).
Raza, who tested positive during a domestic competition, had filed an appeal on June 3 to PCB’s Appellate Tribunal but it was deemed not competent. The case is being dealt under the board’s Anti-Doping rules.
“Under the rules, the appropriate forum for filing the appeal is CAS, therefore the appeal filed by Hasan has been returned by the PCB,” the board’s legal advisor, Taffazzul Rizvi, told The Express Tribune.
Hasan had previously failed to respond to a notice served to him by the PCB regarding the doping charges within the given 14-day deadline and kept using his sources to get clearance from the board on sympathy grounds.
The spinner also tried to get his sentence reduced by bringing in influential personalities with him to the PCB headquarters. He has been giving excuses in an attempt to get some reprieve but his two-year ban is already the minimum sentence for such an offence.
However, the board did not hear his plea against the charge which was proven in an independent doping report.
The 22-year-old, who has played one ODI and 10 T20Is, was being touted as the spinner who could replace Saeed Ajmal.
