The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) will announce its highest literary-award, “Lifetime Achievement Award”, for the years 2012 and 2013 on Wednesday (today).


The awards are decided by a panel of eminent intellectuals. Moreover, the “National Literary Awards 2013” will also be announced for the best books published during the year in various languages. For Urdu Poetry, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal Award, for Urdu prose, Baba-e-Urdu Dr Maulvi Abdul Haq Award, for Punjabi, Syed Waris Shah Award, for Sindhi, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Award, for Pashto, Khushal Khan Khattak Award, for Balochi, Mast Tawakali Award, for Seraiki, Khawaja Ghulam Farid Award, for Brahvi, Taj Muhammad Tajal Award, for Hindko, Saieen Ahmed Ali Award, for English, Patras Bukhari Award and for the best translated works, the Muhammad Hassan Askari Award, will be announced at the event.

The awards ceremony will be held at the office of the academy.
