New Judges: Ten LHC judges take oath on Monday

The sanctioned strength of 60 judges has never been filled before

LAHORE: Lahore High Court will have full strength of judges after inducting 10 judges on Monday. The sanctioned strength of 60 judges has never been filled before. The new judges include Sardar Naeem, Mushtaq Tarar, Shahid Mubeen, Farrukh Awan, Erum Gull, Raja Shahid Abbasi, Aslam Minhas, Shehram Sarwar, Sajid Mahmood Sethi and Sardar Sarfraz Dogar. Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik would administer oath to the additional judges recommended by the Judicial Commission and the Parliamentary Committee on judges’ appointment.  Naeem has been serving as a district and sessions judge and registrar of the LHC during Justice Umar Ata Bandial’s tenure. Shehram Sarwar is a Lahore-based lawyer and had been a president of Lahore High Court Bar Association. Erum Sajjad Gull will be the third woman judge of the LHC.  The LHC received notification of the appointment of on Friday. On Saturday, the LHC posted non-ministerial staff with the newly inducted judges. Three naib qasids have been posted to each court.
