An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday issued non-bailable warrants of arrest against three investigation officers for not complying with court orders.
The warrants were issued for inspectors Ismail Lashari, Ali Muhammad and Abdul Khaliq, as they did not appear in court or produce any witnesses in the cases they were investigating.
This is the second time in a week that warrants for Lashari have been issued by ATC-I. The judge, Bashir Ahmed Khoso, had earlier expressed anger over the officer's repeated absence in hearings for an explosive substances case registered at the Sohrab Goth police station. On Tuesday, the judge directed senior police officials to produce Lashari in the next hearing of the case, which is also for possession of explosive substances, on June 6.
Meanwhile, Muhammad, investigating an extortion case, has been summoned on June 15 and Abdul Khaliq, probing an explosives and illicit weapons case, has been called to court on July 2.
