Homecoming: Qadri says he will return in June to lead protest
Qadri rejected the JIT report, calling it ‘murder of justice’
LAHORE:
Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) head Dr Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday announced that he would return to the country in June to lead a protest drive against the recent report of the Joint Investigation Team formed to probe PAT workers’ killing in Model Town.
He was addressing a press conference through a video link from Canada.
Qadri rejected the JIT report, calling it ‘murder of justice’.
He accused Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Shahbaz Shrif, then law minister Rana Sanaullah and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Touqeer Shah of involvement in the incident.
He said protest against the JIT report would continue until those responsible for the incident were held accountable for their actions.
He said the culprits were still holding key offices in the provincial government.
