Wife wars: First wife throws acid on second

Angered by husband's second marriage. first wife throws acid on the second while she was asleep.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: A woman threw acid on her husband’s second wife with the help of a domestic helper.  Angered by her husband Zaheer Ahmed’s second marriage to Alisha, Ahmed’s first wife Bano Zaheer threw acid on Alisha while she was asleep. The woman was seriously injured and was taken to hospital. Bano Zaheer and her maid have fled the area.

According to police officials, market resident Zaheer Ahmed remarried Alisha without telling his first wife and she discovered the news two days ago on Friday.

Bano Zaheer along with her housemaid Samina, visited Alisha’s house and threw acid on her while she was still asleep. Hospital officials and doctors say that Alisha’s face, hands and legs were severely burnt and when she cried out for help the other two women escaped the scene. According to Ahmed Zaheer’s parents, Alisha was a local dancing girl and they had stopped meeting their son when they discovered that he had married her without informing anyone in the family. Police officials have begun searching for the accused.
