Cracker blast in Hyderabad damages train track

No casualties have been reported as yet; trains were left stranded at Hyderabad railway station

HYDERABAD: A blast caused by a cracker bomb on Wednesday afternoon damaged the railway track in Husainabad area of Hyderabad, Express News reported.

According to initial reports, the blast caused a few dents along the railway line, as a result of which trains at the railway station were stranded. The explosion was heard in multiple areas in the city, however, no casualties were reported.

This is not the first time the railway lines in Hyderabad have been subject to an explosion.

Earlier last month, an explosion took place on on a railway track in Hyderabad.

According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, unidentified assailants attacked the track using 500 kilograms of explosive material. “The explosives were locally made,” it added.

The blast damaged around 1.5ft of the railway track in Hussainabad area and disrupted train services in the city. As a result of the incident, trains were stranded at the Hyderabad railway station.

Soon after the incident, police conducted a search operation in the area and confirmed that the blast did not lead to any causalities.
