Three policemen gunned down in Karachi

Sources added the assailants managed to shoot at close range

KARACHI: Three policemen were killed in a targeted attack early on Wednesday morning, when four unidentified assailants opened fire on a police vehicle in Karachi's Azizabad area, Express News reported.

Initial reports revealed that four unidentified assailants on two motorcycles opened fire on the vehicle using 9mm pistols, leaving three dead.

Sources further added that the police vehicle was parked while police personnel were on their night shift and the assailants managed to shoot at close range.

Sub Inspector Sikander and constables Ashraf and Asif were killed during the attack.

Following the incident, a heavy police contingent cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation.

As investigation is underway, DIG West has taken notice of the incident and has ordered for a report to be submitted on the incident within two days.
