Three SSU commandos were killed and 19 others were injured as a vehicle-borne bomb hit their bus on National Highway near Quaidabad in March this year. The special force personnel were going to the SSU headquarters near Hassan Square from the Razzakabad training centre. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was quick to claim responsibility for the brazen attack.
The investigators obtained footage from the camera of the vehicle which showed that the blast occurred as soon as the bus passed by a motorcycle parked on the roadside.
The FIR was registered against TTP men later on the same day as an injured police constable, who led the attacked convoy, recovered to give his statement.
The police have mentioned names of at least nine TTP militants, including its chief, Fazlullah, and spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid.
The ATC-I has accepted the challan and is likely to issue non-bailable warrants of arrest against the absconding suspects on the next hearing of the case.
