ISLAMABAD: After long deliberations, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) decided on Monday to award a ticket to Chaudhry Saud Majeed to fill the seat vacated by Rafique Rajwana.

Both Majeed and Rajwana were potential candidates to take up reigns as the governor of Punjab. But when the PML-N leadership chose Rajwana to fill the Mall Road hot seat, his senate seat was up for grabs.

Both, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had deliberated on the subject of awarding the senate seat. After deciding on Majeed, they urged him to prepare for polls.
