Tension prevailed in North Nazimabad on Tuesday evening after a Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker was gunned down, leading to the partial suspension of commercial activity in the area.



At least six armed men on three motorcycles opened fire at the party worker near Hyderi market. He was shot multiple times and died on the spot. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was identified as 25-year-old Khurram, son of Siraj. SHO Idrees Alam Bangash said that the deceased was a resident of Liaquatabad, adding that he had come to Hyderi for some work when he was targeted.


The officer said that a passerby, Sohail, was also wounded in the attack and was admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. SHO Bangash termed the incident an act of targeted killing, adding that further investigation was underway. Following the incident, a contingent of law enforcers was deployed to avoid any untoward incidents amid the tension in the area.
