Promoting research: AIOU to publish three new journals
Research should give answer to the questions, faced by policy makers and other stakeholders
ISLAMABAD:
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will publish three new research journals this year which will include research papers on science and technology, Urdu and business management. The university is already publishing three journals in the fields of social sciences and education. AIOU’s executive council has already approved a package of incentives including cash reward for the authors of published research papers. The cash awards would be given for writing books and research articles. The varsity would also bear travelling and lodging expenses of its teaching staff for attending seminars and conferences in Pakistan and abroad. “The research package is aimed at gearing up development at various levels through new inventions and to enhance academicians’ role in policy-making. Research should give answer to the questions, faced by policy makers and other stakeholders in the nation building task,” said an AIOU official.
