Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence will earn $20 million for her next role putting her in Hollywood's high earning category, which is largely dominated by men, reported Mirror.

The actress will earn a huge amount for her role in upcoming film Passengers, twice what male lead in the film, Chris Pratt will make.

Last year she found herself at the forefront of a bitter row over Hollywood's gender pay gap after an email from the Sony hack revealed she was paid less than her male co-stars for Oscar nominated hit American Hustle.

This sparked fury amongst prominent female stars including Charlize Theron who revealed recently that she insisted on being paid the same as her co-star Chris Hemsworth in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Sony risked further criticism and embarrassment by trying to barter down the $20million for Jennifer's next role due to fears over the film's profitability, according to reports.

But her agent has described the deal as "watertight" as fans are eager to see her star in the flick.
