ISLAMABAD: Dispelling the perception created by her recent activities that she enjoys a political role in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Reham Khan denied having any political role in the party.

“I do not have any political role [in PTI],” said Reham in a televised interview on Thursday night.

The television presenter who married PTI chief Imran Khan earlier this year, said she was only an ambassador for street children for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government, and that she had no policy role.

“We are trying to bring all people, organisations working for street children under one umbrella,” she said.

Reham also refuted that the PTI will award her a ticket for NA-125 constituency in Lahore on which the Election Commission of Pakistan had recently ordered re-elections. Ruling her self out of the running, she said that neither she knew much about Lahore nor had its domicile.

Replying to a question if she will continue her television career hosting political talk shows, Reham said she could not do so because it would present a conflict of interest.

“I will do personality shows…to celebrate our heroes.”

atherkhanturi | 9 years ago | Reply people should learn something from developed democracies like united states and united kingdom. michele obama and wife of david cameron both played a very active role in media as wives of a stateman. reham khan have to play the same. as the reality and as per as islam, you can judge a man by judging how he treats his wife. personally i like reham khan very much. she has a strong character and that is required in every pakistani girl. she has risen from a conservative background, won very high status in media landscape, yet kept her dignity intact. her children are proofs of my statement. so as a pti supporter, i fully support reham khan.
