Meet the undercover ‘King of Pakistan’

SARGODHA: A drunken police sub inspector caused a spectacle at a lorry adda, after claiming to be ‘king of Pakistan’ on Wednesday night.

Rescue workers and eyewitnesses said that scores of people gathered at the lorry stand to hear sub inspector, Bashir Ahmed, rant about how he ‘owned’ Pakistan and how the army of the country was secretly under his control. “He was completely drunk but he made so much of a scene by throwing bottles and breaking dishes that a crowd gathered to listen to him,” Rescue official 1122 Nadeem said.

Ahmed was taken to the DHQ hospital by rescue officials where he was locked him up in the nurses’ room.

“He said that he was one of the sons of the King of Saudi Arabia.

A commuter at the adda told a reporter, “He said, ‘I am the real leader of Pakistan. I am undercover, trying to determine what is wrong with the society before I set out to change everything.’” “He also said that he would be ousting president Zardari and taking his rightful place in government. We were all laughing,” added the amused eye witness.

Locals said that Ahmed was sitting in a rickshaw and telling people that he was the ‘only hope’ for the country, as he denounced all the politicians and spoke about security agencies’ conspiracies that he had helped ‘keep quiet’.

Eye witnesses said that he told them he was already controlling the army. Police officials refused to show up at the hospital after they were called in by the rescue officials and so far no action has been taken by the police or doctors against Ahmed.

“He was found in the waiting area of the hospital where another crowd had gathered to listen to him talk about his ‘accomplishments’. We gave him medicine to keep him quiet,” said a nurse Zainab.
