Pink Button system activated across Pindi
.

The Punjab government, in collaboration with the Safe Cities Authority, has activated and expanded the Pink Button system in Rawalpindi and across the province under a modern public safety framework aimed at providing citizens with immediate emergency response facilities.
According to the details, the pink button system is directly linked with the Punjab Police emergency helpline 15 and the Safe Cities central command and control centre. Once activated, an automatic alert is generated and sent to the control room, after which the nearest police and rescue teams are immediately dispatched to the location.
The system is being installed at public places, major highways and sensitive locations across Rawalpindi and other districts of Punjab to ensure swift response in cases of harassment, robbery, theft, missing persons or medical emergencies.
The DGPR said the system is particularly useful in situations where citizens do not have access to mobile phones or face network connectivity issues. In such cases, the pink button serves as an alternative and immediate means of communication with emergency services.
Officials said the pink button facility has also been made mandatory in educational institutions to ensure rapid response in case of any untoward incident, further strengthening the security of students and staff.
Authorities urged citizens to make full use of the facility and activate the pink button without hesitation in any emergency situation.
