                                        ISLAMABAD: 
            
        
            Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have issued 272,149 tickets for various traffic rules violations so far in 2015. A total of 12,544 motorists were fined for using mobile phone while driving, 28,817 motorcyclists for not wearing helmet, 19,920 motorists for not fastening seat belts, 6,567 for lane violation, 11,120 for violating traffic signals and 1591 were challaned for amateur driving. Those who were fined for traffic violations over the last four months also included 12 army officers, 3 MNAs, 2 senior government servants, one MPA, a legal advisor to PM and driver of a VIP personality. The traffic police also took disciplinary action against three wardens because of public complaints against them. ITP received 2,777 calls on 1915 from road users seeking assistance.
