Rest in peace: Slain DSP laid to rest in Pir Jo Goth

Slain DSP Abdul Fateh Sangri, who was shot dead in an act of targeted killing in Karachi on Friday morning, was laid to rest in the Dargah in Pir Jo Goth, Khairpur district, late on Friday night.


The Malir DSP was gunned down along with his guard and driver by unidentified men near Bata Morr in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Steel Town. The body was brought to the Sukkur airport by an air ambulance on Friday evening, from where it was taken to his hometown, Pir Jo Goth, for burial.

Mufti Muhammad Rahim Sikandari led the funeral prayers, after which Sangri was laid to rest within the premises of Dargah Pir Jo Goth amid a large number of mourners, including Sindh IG Ghulam Hyder Jamali, Sukkur DIG Kamran Fazal, the Sukkur commissioner and deputy commissioner, Khairpur SSP and police officers from Karachi, Sukkur and Khairpur. The khalifas of Pir Pagara and other residents of the area also offered funeral prayers. The slain DSP was the younger brother of retired police officer Muhammad Bachal Sangri and Sukkur Crime Investigation Department SP Abdul Ahad Sangri.
