Withdrawal of undue protocol ordered

KARACHI:

An important meeting of the Provincial Threat Assessment Committee was held to review the overall law and order and security situation in Sindh. The session was chaired by Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar.

The meeting conducted a detailed assessment of the prevailing security environment, including arrangements for sensitive installations, VIPs, government officials, religious scholars, and other individuals provided with security.

The home minister made it clear that security would not be granted based on personal requests or recommendations, but strictly on verified threat assessments. He directed authorities to immediately withdraw unauthorised and unnecessary security across the province, and to redeploy excess police vehicles and personnel to their primary duties.

He further instructed relevant officials to compile a comprehensive report on the removal of unnecessary security protocols and the redeployment of surplus personnel, ensuring that available resources are utilised effectively for public safety and maintaining law and order.
