International celebration: Journalists to mark Press Freedom Day
A group of Hyderabad journalists said honesty and objectivity should be the hallmarks of all media organisations

In connection with the World Press Freedom Day on May 3, journalist unions will organise programmes to create awareness among journalists about their rights and professional responsibilities, as well as countering threats, said senior journalist Amin Yousuf. He said that the objective of observing the day was to evaluate press freedom around the world, defend the media from attacks on their independence and pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in pursuit of their work. Meanwhile, a group of Hyderabad journalists said that honesty, dependence and objectivity should be the hallmarks of all media organisations.
