Customer’s complaint: Notice issued for defective furniture

.

LAHORE:
A consumer court issued a notice on Wednesday to a proprietor for selling defective furniture. Petitioner Muhammad Ameen has sought Rs500,000 in damages. Ameen said that he had purchased several furniture items from Kaleem, a resident of Sanda, for Rs250,000 for his daughter’s dowry. “He assured me that he will be responsible if any fault was found,” Ameen said. “After two months, the bed and dinning table developed cracks and their paint started fading,” he said. Ameen said he had asked Kaleem to replace the furniture or return his money, but he had refused.
