ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan stands by Saudi Arabia and is committed to protecting the sanctity of Haramain Sharifain (two Holy Mosques), President Mamnoon Hussain said on Monday.

He was talking to Imam-e-Ka’aba Sheikh Khalid bin Ali al Ghamdi, who had called on him at the Presidency.

The president said the people and government of Pakistan had the greatest regard for the kingdom. “A large number of Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia are acting as a bridge between the two countries.”

The Imam-e-Ka’aba said the deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries were based on strong foundations. He said the Pakistani people had great love for Haramain Sharifain and the Saudi government. “Nothing can affect the pleasant relationship between the two countries.” Al Ghamdi said the objectives of both the countries were the same and expressed confidence that Pakistan would always stand by the kingdom.

He also expressed grief over the loss of lives and properties in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa following a storm.
