Red-Handed: Policeman arrested for taking bribe

Taxila police had arrested him in a drugs case but when the court set him free

WAH CANTT: Rawalpindi Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested a police muharrar for taking bribe. Janan Khan, a resident of Peshawar, said Taxila police had arrested him in a drugs case but when the court set him free, constable Shahid, the muharrar, demanded Rs10,000 to return his passport, CNIC and other documents which were confiscated when Khan was arrested. Khan said he contacted Rawalpindi ACE. The anti-corruption authority sent an inspector and a magistrate who caught the policeman red-handed while taking money from Khan. A case has been registered against the cop.
