The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) anti-tax evasion body has drawn up a number of proposals in order to counter the designs of tax dodgers.



The Prevention Committee on Tax Evasion in its meetings held on March 14 and 16, at the NAB headquarters made the recommendations that were agreed upon by the members. NAB Deputy Chairman Saeed Ahmed Sargana presided over the meetings.


The committee proposed the use of automation to curb tax evasion. It called for making customs more transparent and corruption free. The NAB body suggested procedure to bring back untaxed wealth parked abroad


It also dealt in detail with the tax issue of prepaid cards of cellular companies.


The anti-tax evasion body called for conducting a combined audit of all telecom companies to plug loopholes and revenue leakages. It also made proposals for making mobile top-ups more transparent.
