Precaution: ‘Do not buy mobile phones without CNIC copies'
Robbers tended to sell stolen mobile phones for very low prices.

City Police Officer Muhammad Waqas said on Saturday mobile phone dealers should not buy or sell mobiles without acquiring copies of CNICs and thumb impressions to complete the transaction.
He said the buyer and seller should sign the receipt and each should keep a copy. He was addressing a meeting with representative of various mobile phone dealers’ associations.
Waqas said robbers tended to sell stolen mobile phones for very low prices. He said shopkeepers should be wary of such activities. He said mobile phone dealers should ensure they were not buying stolen phones. He said police should be immediately informed if there was suspicion that the mobile phone was stolen.
Representatives of the associations said police should step up security. The CPO assured them that steps would be taken to protect lives and property of traders.
