President Mamnoon Hussain has approves premier's advice for summoning joint sitting of parliament on 21st April

The prime minister’s office confirmed Friday that on a summary initiated by the ministry of parliamentary affairs, president Mamnoon Hussain has approved the prime minister’s advice for summoning a joint sitting of parliament on Tuesday the 21st April.


Ahead of the visit by his Chinese counterpart to Pakistan, President Mamnoon Hussain had summoned a session of the National Assembly on April 20, Monday.


According to officials, as the upper house of parliament is already in session, the Chinese President will address the joint session of parliament on Tuesday during his two-day official visit. The Chinese President’s much awaited visit and address to both the houses is of major significance, an official at parliament house added.


This would be the second joint session of parliament this month. The first had been convened to discuss the Yemen crisis and Pakistan’s response to Saudi Arabia’s demands.
