Policeman, party worker among four shot dead

A 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death over a dispute.

KARACHI: A policeman and a political party worker were among four people shot dead on Friday.

Naeem Mehdi Hassan, 25, was shot dead near Do Minute Chowrangi in North Karachi within the limits of the Bilal Colony police station. The police said that Hassan was out on his motorcycle when unidentified men in a car opened fire at him. Hassan was posted at the Khwaja Ajmair Nagri police station and residing in New Karachi. The police said a case has been registered.

In an unrelated incident, a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was killed in Darussalam Society within the limits of the Korangi Industrial Area police station. The deceased was identified as Raheel, 24, son of Mushtaq. Police officials said that the deceased was a resident of the area and was going somewhere on his motorcycle when unidentified men shot at him. He died on the spot. The body was taken to Jinnah hospital.

Meanwhile, 45-year-old Daud Memon was shot dead in Bhittaiabad. Sacchal police said that the deceased was an employee of the health department. They added that the incident occurred outside his house. A 14-year-old boy identified as Wali Muhammad was stabbed to death over a dispute. The incident took place near Banaras Chowk, Muhammadi Colony.
