LAHORE:

A group of lawyers on Monday forced the driver of a woman police officer to remove the blue emergency light off the car she was in.

They also removed the vehicle from the Lahore High Court’s parking lot. SP Maryam Naheed was visiting the court from Faisalabad to attend proceedings of a case regarding promotion of traffic wardens.

She was accompanied by several women police officers. Some of the eyewitnesses said the lawyers had had an argument with the SP’s driver and they removed the car from the court’s parking lot. The women police officers told reporters that the car belonged to the chairman of Faisalabad’s Amn Committee. They said their official car was out of order so they had borrowed his.
