Land acquisition: Multan admin told to negotiate with tenants

The minister was presiding over a meeting at the Board of Revenue.

LAHORE: Minister for Zakat and Ushr Malik Nadeem Kamran on Monday directed the Multan district administration to negotiate with tenants to resolve the issue of land acquisition for Nawaz Sharif University and submit a report within four days.

He was presiding over a meeting at the Board of Revenue. “The tenants’ problems in one district are different from those in others. Therefore, all commissioners and DCOs should submit their separate reports,” he said. The minister directed the Sahiwal commissioner to withdraw orders about demolishing houses of several tenants of Arifwala Muhammad Nagar Farm and submit a report in six days.

He urged the representatives of tenants to display a positive attitude.
