The IJ Principal Road, one of the busiest roads, in the twin cities, is in dilapidated condition and therefore needs urgent maintenance as well as installation of road signs.
A complaining motorist Ahmad Saeed said that the CDA should repair the road and install road signs, which are missing from all over the road.
He went on to saying that several accidents occur on a daily basis owing to the poor condition of the road.
Several overhead bridges have been constructed at various points for the pedestrians who intend to cross it. But unfortunately, these bridges are not used by the people as they prefer crossing the road.
Another factor adding fuel to the fire is the encroachments on the both sides of the road, which goes unchecked by the concerned authorities.
Heavy vehicles including trucks, buses and dumpers are causing traffic jams on IJ Principal Road. Heavy vehicles have turned the IJP Road in dilapidated condition and also creating hardships for the motorists.
