KARACHI: Sindh IG Ghulam Hyder Jamali has formed a committee to recommend reforms in the structure and procedures of the police and to remove bottlenecks in police operations and investigations, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. The committee, headed by the Crimes AIG and constituted during a meeting at the Central Police Office, has been directed to submit its report within two weeks. “A performance monitoring system must be devised to evaluate the capabilities of the police officers, while black sheep should be eliminated from the department,” asserted the police chief, adding that efforts should be made to facilitate citizens. The meeting was informed that counter-terrorism training was being conducted in collaboration with the army and foreign donors to build the capacity of the police force.
