Flashpoint: Attacking Yemen will be a mistake, says Tahirul Qadri
Qadri said that the Pakistan Army was an asset of the Islamic ummah
LAHORE:
Attacking an Islamic country will be a grave mistake, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri said on Tuesday.
Talking to PAT leaders over the phone, Qadri said that the Pakistan Army was an asset of the Islamic ummah.
“Our incompetent rulers have made an issue of protecting a sincere friend of Pakistan controversial,” he said.
Qadri said that political issues should not be mixed with religious ones. “We cannot trust the government on the Yemen issue. The government will never tell the truth about its commitment to Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Qadri said that the army chief should brief the nation over Yemen.
“Yemen faces a civil war. Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia must find a solution for it through negotiations. At the moment, the best solution to the crisis is elections in Yemen. Use of force will only benefit Yemen’s enemies,” he said.
