Medical facilities: LGH board approves hiring for 35 vacancies

LAHORE: Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital’s board of management has given approval to announce 35 new vacancies of various posts. This was announced at a meeting chaired by Board Chairman Gen (retd) Khawaja Ziauddin on Tuesday.

The vacancies announced are of 21 demonstrators, a nephrology assistant professor, a neurology assistant professor, a senior neurology registrar, a physiotherapist, an audiologist, five bus drivers and four helpers. All recruitments will be processed on a contract basis.

The board also approved the construction of a two-storey parking plaza at the hospital to help solve parking problems. The PC-1 for the project will be referred to the relevant department soon, the board announced.

Gen (retd) Ziauddin directed officials to observe every Sunday as cleanliness day. It will be supervised by the additional medical superintendent. He stressed the need to ensure fool proof security at the hospital. He also directed administrative doctors to make rounds of all wards at night.

Gen (retd) Ziauddin appreciated the services of Principal Anjum Habib Vohra and other faculty members for conducting training workshops to create awareness regarding dengue fever. The participants of the meeting were given a detailed briefing about various development projects at the LGH and the PGMI.
