Busted: Police take bike-lifter into custody

Incidents of car and motorcycle theft have spiked sharply in the provincial capital

PESHAWAR:
Michni Gate police arrested a bike-lifter on Saturday and recovered three stolen motorcycles from his possession. Speaking to The Express Tribune, a local police official said the man has been identified as Zahir Khan, who is also a polio worker. Police are conducting further investigation into the matter. “We have taken Khan into custody and are currently interrogating him,” the official said. “We hope that he will provide us with important details about other members of his gang.” Incidents of car and motorcycle theft have spiked sharply in the provincial capital, compelling police to adopt a firm stance in dealing with culprits.
