Week-On-Week: SPI falls 0.23%

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended March 19 registered a decrease of 0.23% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 200.12 points against 200.59 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group decreased 0.23% from 205.75 points in the previous week to 206.28 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group fell 2.51%. During the week, average prices of 14 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of nine items rose and rates of remaining 30 recorded no change.
