Promises: ‘Labour policy in next cabinet meeting’
He was speaking at a meeting with United Nations
LAHORE:
Minister for Labour and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said on Tuesday that a first-ever labour policy for the province will be tabled at the next cabinet meeting. He was speaking at a meeting with United Nations (Women) Pakistan programme coordinator Uzma Quraeshi and deputy representative Sangeeta Rana Thapa. Sarwar assured them that the policy would be enacted as soon as it was approved by the cabinet. He said home-based workers could get social security and benefits available under the law to workers in the formal sector once the policy was enacted.
