Police said on Saturday they had arrested two suspects involved in the murder of a police razakar (volunteer). CPO Dr Sohail Habib Tajik said, “On May 15, 2014, Muhammad Irfan, a police razakar posted at Madina Town, was returning from duty when two unidentified gunmen shot him dead.”


Tajik said that the Iqbal Town SP investigated the murder. “Police arrested Haidar and Yaseen, residents of Chak 224-RB. They have confessed to killing Irfan for putting up resistance during a robbery. “The accused have said that they had tried to snatch cash and valuables from Irfan. They shot him when he resisted,” Tajik said.


He said that the two suspects were also wanted in several robbery cases in Samanabad, D-Type Colony and Sadar police stations.
