The Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and the European Union (EU) on Wednesday discussed a roadmap to reach highest possible degree of awareness in the country about research and innovation.


The EU research and innovation programme, “Horizon 2020” was discussed at a meeting, in this regard.

Stenfano Gatto, deputy head of the EU delegation to Pakistan, called on PSF Chairman Dr Muhammad Ashraf to discuss future plans such as the establishment of PSF as a National Contact Point (NCP) by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), arranging awareness seminars for scientists and techno-preneurs at Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi.

PSF has been declared as the focal organisation of science and technology for EU programme by the government.

Ashraf assured Gatto that PSF would collaborate with the EU Delegation to Pakistan, MoST, and other stakeholders to play its role in disseminating information on Horizon 2020 through seminars at the federal and provincial levels to improve understanding of how the program operates.
