RAWALPINDI: Nullah Leh dredging will be completed by the end of March. According to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) spokesman, this year Rs30 million were allocated by the Punjab government for the purpose. He said that WASA has started the work up and downstream of Dhoke Naju, Phagwari Bridge Khyaban-e-Sir Syed and Pir Wadhai Bridge. The main focus was to restore the width and depth of Nullah Leh to the original specifications. He elaborated that the Nullah Leh Monitoring Committee has also asked Rawalpindi Solid Waste Management Company to place containers around the waterway to make it harder for locals to dump solid waste in it. The spokesman said strict measures would be taken to stop dumping of solid waste and construction material into the Leh.
