LAHORE:

Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday upheld conviction of a man accused of facilitating a suicide attack on the Naval War College, Lahore. An anti-terrorism court had awarded life imprisonment to Nadeem Hussain on three counts and fined him Rs625,000 for facilitating the March 2008 suicide attack leaving three people dead and 15 injured.

Hussain said the trial court had awarded him life imprisonment saying that he had facilitated the attack. He said the order was passed despite there being insufficient evidence against him. He requested the court to exonerate him from the charges. Deputy Prosecutor General Khurram Khan said the prosecution had sufficient evidence against the convict.
