LHC issues notice to Ashraf

The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a notice to the Federal Minister for Water and Power, Raja Pervez Ashraf over a 6 percent increase in electricity tarrif in the name of fuel adjustment on Friday.

The notice was issued on application by Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi.

Qureshi argued that fuel adjustment charges should be declared null and void as despite the government collecting 6 percent of electricity bills for the purpose, power supply is still not being supplied continuously.

The court also issued notices to PEPCO and officials of other power distribution companies.
