Encounter: Three alleged gangsters killed

Three criminals were killed in the retaliatory fire.

KARACHI: Three suspected gangsters were killed during an alleged encounter with the paramilitary force in Baloch Para, Jamshed Quarters, on Thursday evening. Two Rangers personnel were also wounded during the exchange of fire. According to Rangers officials, the encounter took place when the paramilitary troopers conducted a raid on the hideout of the gangsters on a tip-off. A Rangers spokesperson said the criminals resorted to indiscriminate fire at the officials. Three criminals were killed in the retaliatory fire. The bodies were taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for autopsies. One of the deceased criminals was later identified as Aurangzeb alias Aurang. The spokesperson said that Aurangzeb was associated with the Uzair Baloch group of a Lyari-based gang.
