A crippling disease: Anti-polio drive to start next week

Polio teams need to work together with dedication in order to eradicate the virus from Pakistan.

SUKKUR/NAUSHERO FEROZE:
A three-day anti-polio drive kicked off in Naushero Feroze March 15 and will be carried out in 51 union councils (UCs) of the district. More than 290,356 children will be vaccinated during this campaign, said the deputy commissioner Mirza Nasir Ali on Thursday. He added that doctors from government hospitals will monitor the polio drive. In Sukkur, deputy commissioner Munawar Ali Mithiani said that the anti-polio drive scheduled for March 16 will be successful in all UCs of Khairpur. He said that polio teams need to work together with dedication in order to eradicate the virus from Pakistan.
