PERTH: Indian batsman and team vice-captain Virat Kohli lost his cool after a training session on Tuesday when he threw a tantrum at a journalist who he thought was behind a story about him and his girlfriend, Bollywood starlet Anushka Sharma, The Times of India reported.

After Kohli was done with his training, he was returning to the dressing room where he saw a string of journalists. Kohli reportedly used ‘filthy language’ and abused one particular reporter before storming off.

The journalist, on the other hand, remained clueless at the selective treatment. After cooling down, the cricketer admitted he had mistaken the journalist for a reporter who had written an absurd article about him and Sharma. He later called one of the journalists and asked him to pass on his apology to the reporter he openly abused.

According to The Times of India’s sources, Team Director Ravi Shastri personally spoke to Kohli and advised him to keep his cool as it is improper for a future India captain to behave in this manner publicly.
