Police take action against electricity wastage
LAHORE:
The Lahore Police launched a crackdown against people not adhering to the government's guidelines on power usage on Thursday.
The Lahore district government has set up more than 300 police teams in union councils and 18 teams in nine towns. The teams have been directed to take strict action against anyone found wasting electricity.
Raids have already been carried out in marriage halls in Harbans Pura and Fatah Garh, and have fined the owners for using excessive electricity.
All unnecesarry lights outside petrol pumps and shops were also turned off by the teams.
All shop owners have been warned of further police action if wastage of electricity is not halted.
