ISLAMABAD:

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sealed an illegal medicine factory in the Kahuta Industrial Area during a raid on Saturday.

The raiding party had to force its way in after the guard refused to open the gate. Inside, they found the factory operational and manufacturing some unregistered medicines. Drap officials said the factory was producing Sofosbuvir tablets (for hepatitis C) without approval of the authority. It was also manufacturing Everlong tablets, which were not registered with the authority.

The factory had also sent the stock to the market. The federal drug inspector sealed the factory and lodged an FIR.
