Sacked IHC judge pays back outstanding loan
.

Former Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, who was removed from office in fake degree case, has repaid the outstanding Rs30 million interest-free loan he had obtained for the construction of his residence, according to official sources.
Jahangiri, dismissed in December 2025 in connection with an unauthenticated law degree, had secured the loan under the entitlements available to judges. The amount was being recovered through monthly instalments deducted directly from his salary during his tenure.
However, following his removal from service, the recovery process was halted, leaving an outstanding liability of approximately Rs30 million at the time of his dismissal. The Islamabad High Court administration subsequently directed him to clear the remaining amount.
